Paisley Utd 5 - 1 Kilsyth Kilpatrick
With the first group stage match kicking off Paisley got off to a flyer, with Andy Elliot scoring within 10 minutes, taking it round the keeper with ease. That goal set the tone, and Utd pressed for more goals dominating Kilsyth in all departments, and more goals came but in the second half, where Elliot got his brace by sliding the ball easily by the keeper. With the score 2-0, Gordon Chalmers decided he wanted on the scoresheet, with a simple tap-in from a spectacular Andy Mcnab cross. It was now Adam Kerrs turn to get a brace, with a lovely shimmy which deceived the keeper, to give him his first goal of the tournament, and later followed his 2nd with an acute header to the right of the keeper. Paisley, who had a comfortable lead, had a laps of concentration, and gave a silly goal away, which did look to be offside, but in the end it was only a consolation goal.

Paisley Utd 0 - 0 Pollock Utd
This game was to be a challenge for Paisley as Pollock were the runners up of the Scottish Cup, last season, but Paisley held their own and throughout the whole match wasn't troubled by Pollock, infact it was Paisley going for goals, with half chances just going a-stray, from thw two strikers of Paisley, but all in all it was a good match even though no goals were scored. At this stage in the group it looked like these two teams were odds on to go through. It was pleasing to see Paisley (who only formed a year ago) holding off the runners up of the Scottish cup.

Paisley Utd 7 - 3 The Priarie
With Paisley, most definetely through to the semis, they ensured they were with a comfortable victory over the Priarie, with Gordon Chamlers, scoring a hat trick, Michael Conroy and Tony ?? scoring their first goals for the club, and Graham Black and Elliot finishing the goal scoring list. With Paisley always in front of the Prairie there was never any doubt Paisley would finish top of the group.

Semi Final
Paisley Utd 2 - 1 Johnstone Burgh (after extra time)

These two teams who met previously last season in a semi final knew it would be a physical and tough game, which was proved, with the deadlock not being broken until 5 minutes before full time, where Burgh, scored a lovely curling free kick into the bottom left hand corner. However, Paisley fought back straight away and got the equaliser through the Captain Andy Elliot, with a superb solo goal. Meaning the game would go into extra time. With 4 minutes gone in e.t. Elliot once again slotted home, a through ball from Gordon Chalmers to make it 2-1, which made Paisley Fans at the side of the park ecstatic. Paisley held on to win, and see themselves to another final.

Final
Paisley Utd 1 - 1 Campsie Blackwatch (after extra time) 6-5 on p.ks

With both teams winning their groups, this was seen to be a cracker. And it was. With the teams evenly matched, the breakthrough came in 10mins from a Graeme Wales corner, which was cleared by a Campsie defender to the edge of the penalty area, where Michael Conroy volleyed, with his right foot into the top right hand corner, giving Utd a precious lead. With Campsie losing their first goal of the tournament, they pressurised right from the kickoff, looking for the equaliser, n it came just at half time with a through which bet the centre back, into the path of the Campsie striker who dinked it over the stranded keeper. Making the score 1-1 at half time. The second half was marred with tension, as each team went for the winner, and it nearly came for Utd, as Andy McNab slid the ball by the Campsie keeper to see the shot run agonisingly wide. With no winner in the second period, the game went to extra time, and like the second half was pretty tense, with no real clear cut chances, meaning the final was to be decided by penalties. With the score at 5-4 on penalties to Campsie in sudden death, Graeme Wales stepped up to score the equaliser, which he missed! But the linesman, made a good decision, as the keeper was off his line too early, at this stage Campsie were celebrating the win, running round the park, until the referee said it was a retake, with this in mind Wales slotted the penalty calmly into the bottom right hand corner. With the score being 5-5, the Campsie keeper steps up to hit a penalty, and hits it wide, which leaves Utd the chance to win the double, (the usa cup, and Glasgow green cup), which was sealed in style with Graham Black powering home the pen. A great 3 weeks for the Utd manager Gordon Butler and the Utd players.
