United. The event was held in a packed St Brendan's Hall
in Linwood
Special
Guest Mitch Agnew, Scottish Youth FA Manager of
Development, said that he was proud to have been asked
along on the night as Paisley United had featured such a
big part in the Association in their first season. There
were 6 players in the National Squads and the Club had
the Under 14 National Captain, Chris McMonagle and the
Under 18 Captain, Derek Wales. The Club also had 12
players involved in Regional Squads. The Officials also
played their part with a National Team Manager, 3
national Coaches and an Assistant National Kit Man
amongst their ranks. In fact at the recent SYFA AGM,
Club Official Jim Smith was appointed as a Director of
the SYFA

said that for their first season the Team had come a
long way in their own development. For many it was a
gamble changing Clubs but that gamble has paid off with
4 players in the National Squad and 8 players featuring
in the regional squad. The Season had probably finished
too early for the Team in that they were probably now
playing their best football of the season. The Team had
finished 3rd in the Scottish Amateur League and were off
to America on the 12th July to play in the USA Cup. Jim
also thanked Sponsors Tan Co and Home Farm Hampers for
their support over the season

the Year went to the Goalkeeper, Mark Lafferty and the

McMonagle, Jamie Stewart, Mick McGarry and Tommy Coyne
